Dukes of Hafod Drift team – racing wires

Ffics is proud to be a part of the Championship winning Dukes of Hafod drift racing team. Work began in January 2017 to transform the bare shell of a Toyota Corolla A86 into a snarling V8 drifter.  A complete engine and body wiring loom was designed and fitted by Ffics, so that the engine, computers, digital displays and switch panels could all communicate.  The driver and team owner Huw Gwion Savill not only assembled a great team around him, his skill and determination won him the Retro Drift Challenge that year at his first attempt.

Following a major redevelopment of the engine, cooling and body in 2018, in which Ffics played its part, Gwion took to the track for the last few events of the year.  With a ton of knowledge gained and a load of ideas the car is scheduled for more upgrades before the 2019 season kicks off.

The team:  Huw Gwion Savill, OJ Harvey of Ffics, Merlin Whiteland, Lewis Whiteland and Dean Tyrrel of Whiteland Restorations, Dai and Phil of Moduron Hafod.
